China Scholarship Council delegation to visit campus on Oct. 25

On Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, a delegation from the China Scholarship Council (CSC) will visit UC Santa Cruz.

The delegates will meet with faculty from Applied Mathematics, Physics, and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology to learn about the research strengths and China connections in each department. To gain insight into the student experience for the CSC fellowship recipients, the delegation will meet with several PhD students from China currently receiving funding. Additionally, Interim Campus Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor (CP/EVC) Lori Kletzer will join the delegation for lunch.

To culminate the visit, the delegation will sign an amendment to an MOU established between UC Santa Cruz and CSC in 2017. The amendment will add three additional departments, Applied Mathematics, Physics, and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, to the current scholarship funding model referred to as AEPSO, named after the three original participating departments of Astronomy & Astrophysics, Earth and Planetary Sciences, and Ocean Sciences.
