Global Engagement
I work with Global Engagement on the Global Classrooms initiative, the International Summer Research Program, as well as fostering partnerships with international faculty and institutions. I have a background in Education and Ethnic Studies, having taught Spanish at the high school and college levels before working at Oregon State University in their Dual Language and ESOL certification programs. My own research has examined Latinx youth ill-literacies and advocacy practices, as well as Dual Language teacher preparation.
I approach global engagement from a variety of perspectives, having had international experience in various roles including student, instructor, and resident director. I have strong ties to Quito and Ibarra, Ecuador; Querétaro, Mexico; and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
