UC Campuses Travel Advisory – Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region

Advisory Summary

The University of California Office of the President has issued a travel advisory for all UC campuses regarding travel to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Due to security risks from civil unrest and violence in the MENA region, the UC Office of the President strongly advises that all university-related travel to this area be limited to essential travel only.

Countries Affected

Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestinian Territories, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen

Travel Review Process

All travelers to a MENA country should communicate with their Department Chairs and/or Principal Officers/Supervisors to determine whether it is considered essential.
