UC Santa Cruz Global Exchanges will expand in 2020 with the addition of nine new partnerships. In addition to the current active Global Exchanges, including the University of Sussex (Film and Digital Media), Kyoto University, Aarhus University, Technical University of Denmark (Engineering), and Autonomous University of Barcelona (Economics), the program will expand to include new exchanges throughout Europe and Asia.

The following new student exchange agreements are signed or in preparation for launch as early as Fall 2020:

France

  • ISARA-Lyon (Environmental Studies)

Germany

  • Heidelberg University (Computer Science & Engineering)

Japan

  • University of Tokyo
  • Rikkyo University
  • Sophia University

Korea

  • Seoul National University

Korea University

  • Sungkyunkwan University

United Kingdom

  • University of Sussex (Department of Music)

The Division of Global Engagement established these partnerships with the support of faculty throughout campus. Professor of Environmental Studies Daniel Press was instrumental in establishing a relationship with ISARA-Lyon in France. Similarly, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Heiner Litz played an integral role in developing a relationship with Heidelberg University.

In addition to student exchanges, Global Engagement is exploring expansion of the Global Staff Exchange Program to include opportunities at some of our new partner universities. Additional details will be forthcoming in 2020.
