Five UCSC international students awarded emergency student funds

The Institute of International Education (IIE) offers emergency student funds to partner universities (IIENetwork). Five UCSC international students have been named award recipients.

This opportunity was made available to international students who were enrolled at UCSC through summer quarter, unable to travel to their home countries, and plan to enroll for fall quarter.

Global Programming, within the Division of Global Engagement, contacted all eligible F-1 and J-1 status students, inviting them to apply.

Over the course of two nomination processes, in June and August, three students applied for and received $2,500 grants and two students received $1,500 grants.

All students who applied for funding through IIE are encouraged to connect with Slug Support for additional resource opportunities.

IIE is a non-profit focused on advancing scholarship, building economies, and promoting access to opportunity in international education. For more information, visit IIE’s funding efforts webpage.
