International graduate students are invited to register for the fall 2018 Graduate Preparation Program. This four-week intensive non-credit program is open to newly admitted international graduate students.

The Graduate Preparation Program focuses on English for academic purposes (EAP), academic skills, and cultural orientation. The program provides a strong foundation for the U.S. classroom environment and university system, in addition to the opportunity to practice and master the language and academic skills needed for success. Classes include oral communication, academic writing, reading and research skills and guided study.

The fall 2018 program will take place Tuesday, Aug. 28 through Wednesday, Sept. 19. Classes will take place on weekdays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and include workshops, social activities and capstone projects.

The cost per student is $950 and includes 75 classroom hours of instruction, course materials, on-campus activities, orientation, poster fair with refreshments and an academic report for each student for their respective academic department.

Temporary housing is available to participants for the duration of the program at The Village. This housing is optional; however, it is an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the Santa Cruz area and look for academic year housing. For the four-week program, accommodation is available for $576.
