On October 23rd, 2019, Study Abroad hosted its annual Study Abroad Fair. The fair saw its biggest turnout to date, with over 700 students, staff, faculty, and affiliates coming to learn about UC Santa Cruz study abroad and away programs.

The fair offers students the opportunity to explore Faculty-Led Summer 2020 programs and Global and Domestic Exchanges, learn about international and domestic study, intern, research, and volunteer options, and discover ways to go abroad after graduation. In addition, financial aid advisers and scholarship representatives shared options for funding, alumni shared stories about their experiences abroad, and current students were able to apply for their passport while attending the fair.

With over 25 study abroad organizations present, students, staff, and faculty were able to engage with our international partners and learn about the many ways to participate in global educational programs and opportunities that they may not otherwise be aware of.

During the event, Study Abroad held a raffle in which students won prizes including a $125 travel voucher, hosted international trivia games, gave out study abroad swag as well as coffee, pastries, and other treats.

The fair was a huge success in that it saw its biggest turnout. Many members of the UC Santa Cruz community became aware of Study Abroad and the Division of Global Engagement and their combined mission to support the internationalization of teaching, learning, and research.
