Lunar New Year

What is Lunar New Year?

Lunar New Year (LNY) is a celebration observed in many East Asian countries and its communities across the globe. It marks the beginning of the calendar year with the first new moon of the lunarsolar calendar and lasts 16 days. Since the lunar calendar is based on lunar cycles, the date varies from year to year. In 2022, LNY begins on Tuesday, February 1, beginning the year of the Tiger.
