Lunar New Year

Thank you everyone for joining us in celebrating Lunar New Year! It was incredible seeing the many events our student groups and campus partners held to honor this annual tradition, even virtually. We wish you all a prosperous year of the ox!

What is Lunar New Year?

Lunar New Year (LNY), also known as Spring Festival, begins with the first new moon of the lunarsolar calendar traditional to many East Asian countries and lasts 16 days. Since the lunar calendar is based on lunar cycles, the date varies from year to year. In 2021, LNY falls on Friday, February 12, beginning the year of the Ox.
