Global Initiatives, a unit within the Division of Global Engagement, provides consultative services to UC Santa Cruz faculty and department administrators, assisting them to identify and launch partnerships with peer institutions around the world to expand productive international collaboration in areas of student and faculty mobility, recruitment, research, and teaching. 

The Global Initiatives team supports the partnership endeavors of campus stakeholders with comprehensive project management, systems implementation, institutional policy, and data analysis. Global Initiatives also oversees the creation of formal partnership agreements, ensuring compliance with UC international activities policy and procedures, and manages the growing UC Santa Cruz portfolio of international partnerships (See GlobalConnect).
